The one question that everyone is bound to ask, not only photographer but anyone that has limited space while they are traveling is what to bring on a vacation/holiday. So over my last 10 years of traveling the world, I have came up with my Top 5 Photography traveling items that cost less than $50. To get on my list of the Top 5 Photography traveling items, the items have to be lightweight and multipurpose, fit in a normal size bag, and cost under $50. I know that walking around all day on the cobblestone streets of Rome, hiking around Grindelwald in Switzerland or even hitting the pavement in downtown Tokyo has its toll on your body. These items have to do all of these and do more.
#1: Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod. – $24.88
When I don’t want to carry my Oben full size tripod with me all day or when I can’t get a tripod into places where tripods are not allowed, this is my go to Item! The Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod is small enough to fit in a small back pack without taking up a lot of space along with being super light. It comes in a few different colors and it’s strong enough to hold my Canon 5Dm3 with a 70-200 attached. You can also attach a “Selfie Stick” to the screw mount of the stick and then attach a GoPro or a Iphone 6 to the top to increase the height of it. I often find that the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod comes in handy when you can’t use a normal Tripod. When I was in Paris at the Arc De Triomphe, I used this to get some amazing night images.
