The Great Reno Balloon Race 2013, a Hot air balloon race which is held at the Rancho San Rafael Park, just west of the University of Nevada, Reno. One of the most spectacular shows over the three-day event at the Great Reno Balloon Race is the Dawn Patrol which starts early in the morning hours. We got up from our hotel and headed down to Rancho San Rafael park and head out to the open field to see the balloons starting to be set up. The image below is right after the the launch of the Dawn Patrol with 7 hot air balloons taking off and floating away in the early morning sunrise. It is amazing to see these balloons take off and when they do fire off the burners, it lights up the area right below the balloon. Once the Dawn patrol leaves, that is when everyone is running around getting ready to launch the rest of the balloons. The last image is of the sunrise with the mass amounts of people running around the area getting ready for the mass launch. These are taken with the Nikon D7000 and the 18-55 Kit lens.
